Because life's too short to drink bad anything

meet Aleesha

colourful and always thirsty

I'm an award-winning wine & drinks writer, broadcaster and judge. Currently the resident wine expert on ITV’s Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh, you can also find me talking about wine on BBC Radio and hosting live events.

I've written for publications such as TatlerDecanter, Ocado Life MagazineThe IndependentClub Œnologique, Red and National Geographic Traveller and am currently writing my first book about the anthropology of drinks (Murdoch Books) which will be out in 2024.

I hold the dubious honour of being the first wine writer of Black heritage in the UK, and was the inaugural winner of the Louis Roederer BAME Bursary, as well as being shortlisted for the IWSC Wine Communicator of the Year 2022.

I judge for several drinks awards including the Decanter World Wine Awards since 2021, and in 2022 year joined the judging panel for the Great Taste Awards.

Outside of wine and drinks, I have been a UN Women UK delegate to the Commission on the Status of Women, and in 2023 was announce as an Ambassador for The Fairtrade Foundation and became a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute.

I also really like colour, whether that be in my home or on my person - I just think life is too short to drink crappy wine and wear boring clothes!
